Cover Letter Essays (444 words) - Mathematics, Mathematical Analysis

Cover Letter Dear Organizers, I am a teenage student from Canada. I am currently enrolled in grade 10 but out school has a system known as fast tracking allowing me to finish grade 10, 11 and 12 courses at my own pace and I have finished 20 courses in less than one and a half years. Among those courses are Calculus and Vectors, and Advanced Functions, both AP which I have received a 100 in. I am planning to finish high-school this year because of this accelerated pace and go to university next year where I aim for a PhD in mathematics or theoretical physics. I don't have much experience with formal mathematics or even making applications (this is my first one) but we all need to start somewhere. I have not included a publication list or research statement because I have not published anything and am not currently involved in any serious, formal mathematical research. Of course, I am only a high- schol student! I am, however, working on a generalization of the Lagarias Arithmetic Derivative and other forms of arithmetic derivative but this is only in my spare time. I have competed in math competitions before including famous ones such as the set of CEMC competitions (Gauss, Pascal, CIMC, CSMC, Euclid etc.). In fact, at the age of 11 I was able to achieve a higher score than the entire set of grade 12s in the high-school near my middle school at the time. I never scored below the \"distinction rank\" and more often than not I made the honorable mentions list. I also scored 3 rd best in Ontario for COMC (The Canadian math Olympiad Qualifiers) at the age of 12 and scored 3 rd in Canada (with my teammate) in another Competition: Math at Macmaster. I have studied Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Complex Analysis, Game Theory, Number Theory, Real Analysis among many other mathematics topics and began teaching myself basic calculus late grade 5, when I was 10. Also, as you might already be aware, I was featured in your \" Expii : Top Score Tuesday\". While I did not submit a Curriculum Vitae, Research Statement, or Publication List I hope this does not disqualify me from having a chance at being accepted. If I was able to put anything on such a list believe me I would send it to you. If you would like more information or want me to asses my mathematical proficiency with more questions I would be more than happy to help you and you can reach me at: . Thank you for your time.
